The files are free to download. Without a licence they run fully in MT4's Strategy Tester, so you can backtest before you buy. A licence key unlocks them on live and demo charts.
About the set files. The base set files are for optimizing in the Strategy Tester. Everyone who buys is also sent the author's own optimized set files.

Step 2Install in MetaTrader 4
- Open MetaTrader 4 and choose File › Open Data Folder. A file window opens.
- Open the
MQL4folder and copy the files into these folders: AuraFarmerGOLD.ex4 → MQL4\Indicators AuraFarmerGOLD_EA.ex4 → MQL4\Experts *.set presets (unzip first) → MQL4\Presets - Back in MT4, right-click Indicators and Expert Advisors in the Navigator panel (Ctrl+N) and choose Refresh, or restart MT4.
- AuraFarmer GOLD now appears in both lists.
If you run more than one MT4 terminal, repeat this for each one. Each terminal has its own data folder.
Step 3Activate your licence
Each licence activates on up to 5 MT4 account numbers, live or demo. The panel shows LICENSED in its top-right corner once the account is active.
Expert Advisor
- In MT4, open Tools › Options › Expert Advisors.
- Tick Allow WebRequest for listed URL and add
https://neocat.ca. Click OK. - Attach the EA to a chart (see Add to a chart) and paste your key into the Licence Key setting on the Inputs tab.
- The EA checks your key and activates this MT4 account. If the server can't be reached it keeps running for up to 7 days on its last approval.
Indicator
MT4 doesn't let indicators go online, so the indicator uses an unlock code tied to your account number.
- Open the licence portal, enter your licence key and click Open.
- Under Indicator unlock code, enter your MT4 account number and click Get code. Your account number is shown at the top of MT4's Navigator.
- Copy the code and paste it into the indicator's Unlock Code setting.
Running the EA too? If the EA is licensed on the same MT4 account, the indicator unlocks automatically and you can leave Unlock Code blank.
Step 4Using the licence portal
The licence portal is where you manage your licence. Enter your key and click Open to see:
- Product and plan
- Which product you own, and whether it's annual (with its renewal date) or lifetime.
- Accounts
- How many of your 5 account slots are in use.
- Indicator unlock code
- Get a code for any MT4 account number. Each new account uses one slot.
- Manage billing
- Opens a secure Stripe page where you can cancel or restart your renewal, update your card and download receipts.
- Activated accounts
- Every account using your licence. Use Unlock code to show an account's code again, or Release to free its slot.
Moving to a new account or broker
Release the old account in the portal, then activate the new one as in Step 3. Releasing an account stops the software working on it.
Annual renewal and cancelling
Annual licences renew automatically once a year at the same price until you cancel. To cancel, open the portal, click Manage billing and choose Cancel. There's no fee, and your licence keeps working until the end of the year you've paid for.
After each renewal the EA picks up the new date on its next check. Indicator users get a fresh unlock code from the portal, because codes carry their expiry date.
Step 5Add to a chart
Indicator
- Open an XAUUSD chart and pick your timeframe.
- Drag AuraFarmerGOLD from Navigator › Indicators onto the chart.
- On the Inputs tab, paste your unlock code (if needed) and click OK.
Expert Advisor
- Open an XAUUSD chart on the timeframe you want to trade.
- Drag AuraFarmerGOLD_EA from Navigator › Expert Advisors onto the chart.
- On the Common tab, tick Allow live trading.
- On the Inputs tab, click Load and choose the preset that matches the chart's timeframe, for example
AuraFarmerGOLD_XAUUSD_H1.set. - Paste your licence key into Licence Key, set your risk, and click OK.
- Make sure the AutoTrading button on MT4's toolbar is on (green). The smiley in the chart's top-right corner shows the EA is running.
One EA per chart, one magic number per EA. To trade several timeframes, open a chart for each and load that timeframe's preset. The presets already use different magic numbers. Try the EA on a demo account before trading real money.
MT4 has to stay open for the EA to trade. A Windows VPS keeps it running around the clock. If MT4 restarts, the EA finds its open trades again and carries on managing them, and your broker keeps holding the stop loss in the meantime.
Reading the chart
The panel
- Signal
- BUY NOW!, SELL NOW! or WAIT!, with the reason underneath.
- Market
- Trend strength from ADX: trending up, trending down, weak trend or ranging.
- Trend bias
- Whether price is above (bullish) or below (bearish) the bias EMA.
- Higher TF, Volatility
- The state of those optional filters.
- Trade / Position
- The open trade, with its live profit and current stop and target.
- Execution
- EA only. READY when the EA is free to trade, or the reason it's waiting (spread too wide, outside session, Friday close).
- Performance
- Trades, win rate, net profit, profit factor, expectancy, average win and loss, and max drawdown, in pips, R and dollars.
On the chart
- Triangles
- Entries. Green under the candle for BUY, red above it for SELL, with a BUY or SELL card when zoomed in.
- ✕ and result card
- The exit, with the result in pips and dollars.
- TP1 card
- Where the partial profit was taken.
- Shaded box
- Each trade from entry to exit: green for a win, red for a loss.
- Dots
- The stop (orange) and target (blue) as they move during a trade.
Labels hide automatically as you zoom out, so the chart stays readable. Change this with the Text labels setting.
Chart history is simulated. On a live chart, past trades and the Performance stats come from replaying the strategy over recent history with your current settings. They are a guide, not a record of real trades.
Backtesting the EA
The EA runs in MT4's Strategy Tester, so you can test any settings on past data before trading them. No licence check is needed in the tester.
Run a backtest
- Open the Strategy Tester with View › Strategy Tester or Ctrl+R.
- Choose Expert Advisor, then AuraFarmerGOLD_EA.
- Set Symbol to XAUUSD, Model to Every tick, and pick the Period (timeframe).
- Tick Use date and choose a date range. A year or more gives more reliable results.
- Click Expert properties, open the Inputs tab, click Load and pick the preset for that timeframe. Set the starting deposit on the Testing tab.
- Tick Visual mode to watch trades being drawn, or leave it off for speed. Click Start.
- See the Results, Graph and Report tabs when it finishes.
Optimize settings
- In Expert properties › Inputs, tick the settings to optimize. The presets already include sensible start, step and stop values.
- On the Testing tab, set Optimized parameter to Custom. The EA then ranks each run with its own score, chosen in the Custom score setting.
- Tick Optimization in the tester and click Start. Results appear on the Optimization Results tab, sorted by score.
BalancedRewards profit factor and trade count, penalizes drawdown. The default.
Recovery factorNet profit divided by maximum drawdown.
Profit factorGross profit divided by gross loss.
ExpectancyAverage result per trade, in R.
Avoid curve fitting. Optimize on one period, then check the best settings on a different period they weren't tuned on. Download good history data first through Tools › History Center. Past results don't guarantee future performance.
Settings reference
The indicator and EA share most settings, so signals look the same in both. Settings marked EA or Indicator appear in only one of them. The base set files fill these in for each timeframe.
Exit modes
Hybrid (default)Starts with a fixed stop, moves to breakeven once the trade is working, then trails wide to ride big moves.
ATR trailing stopA stop that follows price at a set distance from the start.
Fixed SL / TPA set stop and target, sized from volatility.
RSI midline crossExits when momentum fades back through the middle.
Stochastic exhaustionExits when Stochastic turns from an extreme.
Profit lock, partial take-profit, time stop and exit on opposite signal work with every mode.
Licence

Entry Filters

Higher Timeframe Confirmation
